Distinguish melancholy from sadness

Find meaning. Distinguish melancholy from sadness. Go out for a walk.

It doesn’t have to be a romantic walk. Spring at its most spectacular moment, flowers and smells and outstanding poetical imagery smoothly transferring you into another world.

It doesn’t have to be a walk during which you’ll have multiple life epiphanies and discover meanings no other brain ever managed to encounter. Do not be afraid of spending quality time by yourself.

Find meaning or don’t find meaning but “steal” some time and give it freely and exclusively to your own self. Opt for privacy and solitude. That doesn’t make you antisocial or cause you to reject the rest of the world. But you need to breathe. And you need to be.”

—  Albert Camus, Notebooks (1951-1959)

[Krystian Zimerman & Kaja Danczowska play
César Franck's Violin Sonata, 1st movement.]

As the decay of winter slowly fades away and spring's bloom rises the images above, Camus' words, and that beautiful and melancholical piece reflect my mood during these days.

Such a great post! I'll definitely be taking a walk this spring.

Melancholy is beautiful, sadness is just sad. It makes me feel empty in a very bad way.

Beautiful post! Unfortunately, as I'm the owner of particularly misbehaving Yorkie, my Spring walks are never relaxing :)

Mai he entès aquestes paraules fins ara. I'm working on it. Molt bonic el post.

Un petonet x

Love this post. I love by shots of the back of people's heads. I have no idea why, but photographs and especially shots from movies of people walking... it really fascinates me. So I really adored this post - a remarkable visual essay.

Truly there is a difference between melancholy and sadness. Something I will remember in the future and to take a walk. A novel could be written from your picture posts! XO
