It's just rock and roll

"Some people have a hard time explaining rock 'n' roll. I don't think anyone can really explain rock 'n' roll. Maybe Pete Townshend, but that's okay. Rock 'n' roll is a lifestyle and a way of thinking... and it's not about money and popularity. Although, some money would be nice. But it's a voice that says, "Here I am... and fuck you if you can't understand me." And one of these people is gonna save the world. And that means that rock 'n' roll can save the world... all of us together. And the chicks are great. But what it all comes down to is that thing. The indefinable thing when people catch something in your music." (Almost Famous)

That's a funny quote on rock 'n' roll from the film 'Almost Famous' one of our favorite films ever. The truth is that I like that film so much because it's a beautiful tribute to that era, and I am a big fan of the music (best music ever), clothes, and lifestyle from the late 60s and early 70s, and the outrageous and amazing Glam Rock. My mother was a teenager during that time, and she passed on to me all her knowledge and experiences (she lived in London and New York for a while on the late 70s, and she met a lot of people who directly lived those glorious rock years) and all her vinyls, that I've grown up listening to. Here are some songs from that time that have become my favorites through the years:

Also, I want to share with you my friend's Emilie lovely blog, called Hola Bola Babes, because she's a fan of the 70s too, and she's done a wonderful post talking about its fashion, how it's influencing nowadays style and catwalk, and also it's influence on films like 'Flashbacks of a Fool', which soundtrack features one of our favorite songs, 'If There Is Something' by Roxy Music. You can visit it by clicking the image:

Hope you've enjoyed this 70s flashback!

love, love, love. Long live Rock 'n' Roll!
